I have not got around to building this model yet but take a look at what others have done; truly amazing!

Alex Bestetti from Italy writes to say,

I've succeeded in radio controlling the little u-boat that you present in your beautiful site, there is enough room to add 2 servos (Graupner 1041 micro), a speed controller (Graupner speed 4 with reverse) a little 4 channels receiver (Yeti Rex 4 micro), 6 v batteries NI-MH (cellular phone type) and a very little but powerful motor of a cd rom plate.  It works greatly, only dynamic diving now, but I'm studying two micro ballast rooms.

The other submarine is radio controlled too, it was an old rubber band powered toy, wide enough to accept a hydraulic pvc tube (40mm diameter), that contains the same rc equipment.  It is my creation, but not my idea.  The prototype was built four years ago by my friend Furio Favretto.  Furio is a genius in rc submarines art.  So now, our little fleet, included five micro submarines and a lot of big nuclear types, and we are  always busy, with our models, in doing exhibitions for the  Science and Technology Museum of Milan.
He goes on to say;

Here are some pictures of my submarine in action, upper right Furio's sub (the yellow one) with my U-Boot, they are very impressive during navigation, for their incredible stability and precision of control.
