This is a very complete U-boat kit from Robbe.  It is a dynamic diving submarine that features an automatic depth control device.  The kit comes with all parts to build the hull and pressure vessel and only requires the radio/electronic components, batteries and a bit of time to build it.

The kit is nicely detailed and comes with the flood holes already cut out.  That's a huge time saver.  It also includes the cannons  and other detail parts.

The only bad thing I've heard about this kit is that the run time is short.  That's a bit strange since it is designed to hold batteries that provide 10 amp/hours.  It uses dual 540 can motors turning a straight shaft.  A gear reduction unit is available from Ships n' Things but I want to see for myself if there really is a problem.  More on this later.

I would prefer to have static diving submarine with some sort of ballast system instead of a dynamic diver.  I will look into adding some sort of ballast system but don't hold your breath as I've never done anything like that from scratch.
