When I first opened the delivery box, I thought that there must of been a mistake.  All I saw was a HiTec 2 channel radio.  After examining the box, I noticed some stickers for the mini sub on one side.
Opening the box, I discovered the mini sub wedged in with the radio.  This just goes to show how small this submarine is.
The box included the Hitec ranger two channel radio, a European battery charge and U.S. adapter, a syringe with castor oil, the mini sub and a bag containing the front of the submarine and some small washers used for adding ballast to the sub.
There are two sets of jumper receptacles on the bottom circuit board.  One is for the charger to plug into, the other is for a jumper to turn the sub on.
The conning tower of the sub houses an led.  Initially, when the sub is first turned on, the led is on, indicating that the submarine is powered up but has not synchronized with the transmitter, after about a second, it starts blinking indicating synchronization.

The two motor pods are fixed into position, depth and steering are accomplished by adjusting each motors speed and direction of rotation.

My initial test showed that the submarine leaked a bit.  Closer inspection showed a couple of problems.  The o-ring that seals the front was getting pushed out of place by flashing found at the seam of the sub as pictured here.  Some careful filing/sanding cured this problem
Another leak was found at one of the engine pods.  It was not sealed completely so I added some silicon sealer to the pod's mounting shaft and the hole where the wires exited the pod.  This solved the problem.
One modification I made was to add a short antenna to the circuit board.  The radio range is suppose to be 30 feet but I got about half of that.  A hole in the circuit board at the front is clearly labeled ANT so I soldered abut five inches of wire to it and stored the wire in the body of the sub.  This helped to increase the radio range although it is questionable that it is worth while since the submarine will usually be operated at very short range.
