Dumas, a well known name in the model surface boat world has come out with a low cost submarine kit.   The submarine is a dynamic diver which means it requires forward motion to dive.  Oddly enough, the forward dive planes are controlled remotely while the rear planes are not.  This is backwards from most kits I've seen.  The kit is not exactly scale but does closely resemble a WWII U.S. Gato submarine.  The kit includes three different conning towers so you can build a early , late or post war style (Guppy) boat.

The box picture shows a far mount of detail items like the deck guns but these are not included in the kit to keep the cost down.  Surprisingly the kit does include the drive line and motors.  Usually Dumas sells these items separately.  The kit is designed to run off a standard 7.2 volt RC battery pack and must use a electronic speed control.
