Battery Pack

Up Preparing the WTC Ballast and Driveline WTC cover WTC Components Finishing Battery Pack

The layout of the WTC when built correctly requires that the battery pack be customized.  I had an old set of batteries that came with an Ebay purchase so I decided to use them.  The first step in converting the battery pack is to cut away the outside wrapper.
Once the outside rapper is gone, the cells are exposed.  If you look at the connectors between the batteries, you should see that they have enough slack so that you can rearranged them from end-to-end to side by side.  At least I did with this battery pack!

Once they are side by side, I cut the connector between the third and fourth cell.  I then hot glued the batteries together in the two separate 3 cell packs.  I soldered a wired to where the original connector was that I cut.  You will need a pretty high wattage soldering iron to get the solder to flow.

To make the pack look a bit nicer, I shrink wrapped the two 3 cell packs and then glued them together.   I used Velcro to hold the pack in the WTC.
