This submarine kit  features the Eden Water Tight Cylinder (WTC) that uses a very interesting ballast system.  Instead of relying on user added compressed gas such as a propel system, this boat forces water into a sealed chamber, compressing the air behind it and then closes a valve.  When the valve is opened, the compressed air pushes the water out.  With this system, you don't have to worry about having a can of propel with you.

The hull is richly detailed and the kit comes with just about every component that you will need, minus the radio equipment.

Conclusion

This boat is great.  It is easy to build and performs flawlessly.  The ballast system is the best I've encountered.  It is trouble free and does not require having a can of propel on hand.  The hull is richly scribed and a nice brass prop is included.

I have some VERY MINOR gripes about this kit.  First, the screws supplied should be packaged in groups so that you know where they go.  I could not identify the servo screws and ended up buying some.  The servo trays are prone to spider cracking around the screw holes due to flexing of the plate.  The cracks do not cause any real problems but they look bad.  The rails that old the plates in position are far to wide to hold them securely and allow them to move around if not shimmed.  Thicker servo plates would solve these problems.

More details could have been included in this kit such as periscopes or antennas.  Sheerline does sell other submarines that include this level of detail but they are a good bit more expensive then this one.   I would rather have the cheaper price then the added detail so I guess this isn't a gripe.

All in all, this is a wonderful kit and I highly recommend it.
