Sea Trial #1

I set the ballast the night before in the bath tub and made sure everything was ready to go.  At the lake there was a number of Tugboat Jr's sailing around.  I placed a fresh 6 cell battery pack into my boat and launched it.  The boat sat perfectly in the water and really look good despite the fact that it has not been painted.

The boat responded very well to steering inputs and has a very tight turning radius.  Perfect for a tug boat especially if you plan on using it for a rescue boat.

Speed was fairly good, it's no speed boat but moves out well for a tug.

I found this boat to be a good performer and fun to operate.  The fact that it is so easy to build is just an extra bonus.

The boat makes a realistic wake at speed.  With paint and the included decals, it would be a nice representation of an older tug boat.  I don't think I will add to much detail because I plan on using it as a rescue boat for stricken boats. The rubber bumper would prevent marring other boats when pushing them to shore.   I think this boat will be one of the most dependable ones in my fleet.

Sea Trial #1 Results

I was expecting a perfect sea trial and that is exactly what happened.  This boat is easy to build, easy to operate and has a very good run time.  I did not see a drop of water in the hull during the whole sea trial.  This is a perfect boat for the beginner looking for something a little more then a ready to run boat.  Also, the price is low enough that it makes a good choice for a rescue craft.
