I purchased the RTR version of this boat.  It included the radio, electronic speed control (ESC), boat and stand.  The only thing it was missing was batteries for the radio and the boat.  

Over the years that I've owned it, I have made a number of enhancements to speed it up and make it last longer.

This boat is a scaled down version of a deep-V.  It looks good on the stand as well as in the water.
The boat's drive system uses counter rotating props on a steer-able outdrive. The outdrives give the boat an extremely tight turning radius.  If fact, the boat will turn around it's center.  Out of the box, the boat came with plastic props but I replaced these with metal ones as described in the modification section.
Access to the motors and the batteries is though the boat cockpit.  It is attached with four black thumb screws.  Two of them are pictured here.
At the rear of the boat are the other two black thumbscrews.  Also note the rubber on/off switch cover to keep water out.  The antenna can be unscrewed and removed.  This is a convenient feature for transporting this boat.
Here is the modified engine bay.  The boat comes with twin 20 turn motors that provide pretty good power.  The small bottle with the tube coming out of it at the bottom of the picture is a drive shaft oiling system that came from the factory.  All you have to do is just squeeze the bottle to oil the drive shafts.  

The two red rectangles in the middle of the picture are the heat sinks on the factory ESC.  The two black engine mounts are actually 2:1 gear reduction boxes.  

All of the other tubes are part of the water cooling system that I added.  This is described in the modification section.

Pictured here is the gear box with the cover removed.  A different size pinion can be used to change the gear ratio slightly.  To the left of the gears is the factory oiling tube for the drive line.
The receiver antenna is connected to a spring.  When the hatch is closed, a metal plate that is attached to the whip antenna makes contact with the spring, completing the circuit.  There are no wires attached between the hatch and the boat.
Two 7 cell battery packs just fit in this boat.  I changed the battery connects from the standard type to Sermos to match my existing battery packs.
