| A helpful spreadsheet for charting motor performances is available here. It requires 3 readings from your dyno. The dyno should be set to manual mode for the first two readings. The first is the free running amps at neutral timing. This is easy to get by simply running the test motor at 5 volts and reading the amps while the dyno is set to manual. To get the timing set to neutral, adjust the timing until the motor is drawing the least amount of amps. The second reading needed is the no load RPM's. Attach the test motor to the slave motor. Set the motor load to 0 and read the rpm readings while running the motor at 5 volts. The third reading needed is the Tekin power numbers, take three readings of this as the spreadsheet will calculate the average. Input the numbers into the first few white column on the spreadsheet. All of the other columns will update themselves. Now highlight the row and press ctrl-g. This will display a graph of the motor characteristic. You can also compare two motors by highlighting two rows and pressing ctrl-g. This is useful for comparing motor modifications. | |||
