We had a decent turn out for this meeting even though Matt and Phil could not attend. Ray, Chris, Doug, Andrew and Ken showed up with a variety of boats. I know I am missing some more people, my memory is terrible about such things. My apologies!
This was the first meeting in 2003 that I attended and brought my camera. Phil has documented the other meetings at the Vac-U-Boat site.
Pictured here is Ken's highly detailed WWII mine sweeper. The simulated rust stains look great.
This is another one of Ken's boats. He really builds some detailed boats!
Tragedy struck when both of Ken's boats sank. He was towing one with another when the towed boat started taking on water. It started listing then finally went under dragging the other boat with it. The place that it sank was to deep to swim for. It looked really bad.
The next day, some divers were hired and they managed to recover both boats. Hurray!
Ray brought out his Zig Zag racer. These boats are really something.
Ray's Zig Zag racer will turn on a dime and is quite fast
